About the Role:

An established California law firm is seeking an experienced Of Counsel attorney to join its fast-paced Land Use & Environmental Practice Group. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney who enjoys advising clients on large-scale development projects, navigating complex regulatory frameworks, and handling sophisticated land use and environmental matters across California.

The position offers exposure to high-impact public and private development projects involving land use entitlements, CEQA compliance, planning and zoning issues, environmental review, and related litigation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and bring strong strategic thinking, technical knowledge, and client management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on land use entitlements, environmental review, and regulatory permitting matters
• Handle CEQA compliance and California land use matters
• Manage land use and environmental litigation matters
• Provide strategic counsel on planning, zoning, and development-related issues
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups
• Support clients through complex public and private development projects

What We're Looking For:

• 7+ years of relevant legal experience
• Extensive experience with land use and CEQA matters
• Strong understanding of California planning, zoning, and land use laws
• Experience advising clients on regulatory permitting and environmental review processes
• Prior land use litigation experience is required
• Excellent research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and client management skills
