Walkers’ Bar & Market is a new central Dallas neighborhood restaurant, sandwich shop, and market built around the personalities and values of its namesake, and experienced through Intentional Hospitality. The restaurant is upbeat, stylish, and sophisticated with elevated European-American cuisine, classic cocktails, and a dynamic wine program focused on classic regions and grape varieties. Adjacent to the restaurant is a bustling sandwich counter, chic wine shop, and quaint upscale market.

We are looking for bartenders who have a passion for food that is equally comparable to their passion for a well-crafted cocktail. Our bar program is driven by seasonality, the utilization of vermouth as base spirit, and leans on the classics to help us explore new ways to reinterpret flavors that are new but familiar.

Every night at Walkers’ is a party and the bartenders are at the center of it. The ideal candidate is engaging while maintaining the pace of service, understanding that sense of urgency and time management are crucial to their success. Bartenders are craftsmen and should take pride in what they do and strive to improve their skillset every day.

• Prepare and serve beverages, oversee bar maintenance, make menu suggestions, deliver food and beverages to guests
• Assist Lead Bartender with cocktail batching and other bar preparations
• Total oversight of the guest's experience, from the first hello at the bar to the last goodbye at the door
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar
• Coordination with all members of the Dining Room team and Kitchen team to execute their meal correctly and in a timely fashion
• Awareness of each table to tailor service and their presence to the needs and desires of the guest
• Take orders and alert the kitchen of any allergies, restrictions, or time constraints
• Overall knowledge of the ingredients in each dish and of all beverages (beer, wines by the glass, wines by the bottles, spirits, cocktail, and non-alcoholic menu)
• Constant communication with all members of the team
• Process payments accurately and efficiently
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines
• Assist with opening, closing, and sidework duties as assigned

Requirements:  

• While we prefer 2+ years in fine dining, a good attitude and a strong work ethic are just as important
• Friendly, reliable, driven by curiosity and their desire to create everlasting experiences for our guests
• Understanding of basic food preparations and has the desire to learn more about various culinary techniques and food preparations
• Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails and the ability to make recommendations when it comes to choice of spirit
• Understanding of basic food and wine pairings and the willingness to learn more about various wine regions including, but not limited to, France, Italy, Spain, and California
• Has a people-first mentality; understanding what it means to be part of a community, both within their team and their neighborhood   
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for an extended period  

• Physical ability to lift heavy boxes up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

• The working environment includes exposure to noise, heat, temperature fluctuations, kitchen equipment, odors, and moisture. Additional hours may be required based on workload and staffing needs
