This position is for a Designer to support internal/external customers by creating design and manufacturing data. 

Specific Role Functions: 

  1. Develop detailed aircraft interior layout drawings from written customer specifications. 

  1. Conduct reviews with internal Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing groups to evaluate and finalize design drawings for external customer approval. 

  1. Create 2D drawings and 3D models to support the manufacturing of exterior paint schemes. 

  1. Create 2D drawings for flooring layouts and other various manufacturing aids. 

  1. Create and maintain various drawings to reflect evolving Program, Customer and/or Engineering requirements. 

  1. Assist Sales and Engineering with innovative solutions for custom requirements. 

Required Skills:

  1. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. 

Preferred Skills: 

  1. Experience with business aircraft cabin design and development.

  2. Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 regulatory requirements.



 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Drafting, Design Engineering or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 7 years aircraft design experience. Must be proficient in operating aided design equipment and personal computers.

Position Purpose :

Create design drawings in accordance with customer specifications and instructions. Coordinate with Engineering, Quality and Certification on a variety of engineering related tasks in support of the overall service and completion operations goals and objectives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Utilize C.A.D. Systems to create more complicated designs usually requiring 3-D drawings.
  2. Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering and design problems.
  3. Provide guidance on engineering and design projects to department personnel.
  4. Evaluate customer requirements and provide recommendations related to the design.
  5. Coordinate design work with other departments, engineers, designers as required. in order to complete in a timely manner.
  6. Evaluate customer requirements and provide recommendations related to the design and FAR compliance.
  7. Provide technical and research assistance to the sales and marketing departments.

Additional Functions:
  1. Support Design Department on special projects (research, technical information, new products, floor plan development). .
  2. Provide exterior paint drawings and related materials as required. .

Perform other duties as assigned.This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
